What is an IPS Panel?
IPS (in-plane switching) technology is the highest performance panel technology available in the LCD displays. What is a LED monitor?
The term "LED monitor" generally refers to a monitor with a LCD panel and a LED backlight. A typical LCD monitor uses cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) as a light source to illuminate the LCD panel. Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio
One of the great features of VX2370Smh-LED is its ability to dim the backlight completely for pure darkness during dark scenes such as a night shot in a movie. Contrast ratios refer to the ratio of the brightest color to the darkest color. With traditional CCFL backlit displays, contrast ratios are limited to the fluorescent lamp’s ability to dim in order to reproduce darkness. However, with the LED backlight, each LED has the ability to completely shut off allowing for a near infinite ratio of black to white contrast. The end result is true blacks that result in greater overall image quality.
Full HD 1080p Resolution
The VX2370Smh-LED features a 24"(23.6” viewable) widescreen with 1920x1080 resolution is capable of displaying a native Full HD 1080p image. Today, devices that can display Full HD content output are getting more and more common. However, without a native Full HD display, you will not be able to experience the picture clarity and the details of the 1080p content you view.

I needed a monitor that I could calibrate for web design and photo-editing purposes. Here are some pros and cons:Pros: Aesthetically pleasing. Stand is stable. Wide viewing angles. No backlight bleeds. Able to adjust colors. No glare or distracting anti-glare coating that other people reported on other brands. Built-in speakers (they're like laptop speakers, but this isn't important to me). No eye strain so far. Cons: Can't adjust monitor height, so mine sits on books (but I knew this going in). It can't swivel but it does tilt (again, I knew this going in). No DVI cable. It does come with an HDMI cable. A few notes: This only happens with HDMI and not DVI. My 1yo PC has ATI Radeon HD4350 with latest drivers. The image did not fill the screen at 1920x1080, and the text was very fuzzy. I had to... Well very few monitors do...so it made me wonder if this monitor was somehow shorter than the others since people are putting books under the stand. It didn't make since to me since the monitor measures 16.1 high with the stand on the specs. So I set it up and I'm still baffled. Unless these people are really really tall or using desks that are only two feet high there's no need to place books under the stand.
